Framing and composition

Framing is one of the most significant main key features of photography. It helps the audience to understand the artist's intentions, when they are using elements of a scene to create a frame within your picture. It refers to the technique of drawing focus to the subject in the photo by blocking other parts of the image with something in the scene, by giving the audience to emphasize what's happening behind the shot, or something being spotted. Furthermore, composition is how the elements of a photo are arranged. How it's been presented in the shot. A good photograph will take many different parts and combine them into a pleasing whole, how an artist tells a story within the confines of a single frame.

Filling the frame

Filling in the frame is basically images that are close ups in the shot, which means that you can only see the image by itself in a tightened position, showing no background in the frame. It can bring the audience's connection between them and the object. Filling the frame, makes the image more intimate, as the viewer is much closer to the subject. So there's greater engagement and connection with the image.

Rule of thirds

A line in a photo is a point that moves, leading towards something. The viewer's eyes are naturally drawn along lines. This can be vertical lines, parallel lines, curved lines, diagonal lines, and even strong horizontal lines. A leading line helps the viewer's eye move from one part of the image to another.

Lines and perspectives

Perspective in photography is defined as the sense of depth or spatial relationship between objects in a photo, along with their dimensions with respect to what viewer of the image sees. By changing perspective, subjects can appear much smaller or larger than normal, lines can converge differently, and much more.

Depth of field

Depth of field, is when a photographer takes a shot, the background has been blurred, but the central image is more focused. It's giving the viewer a better understanding about the image. The artist wants them to focus more on the image, instead of avoiding it by looking at the background.

Macro

Macro photography is extreme close ups. Usually of very small subjects and living organisms like insects, raindrops etc, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size. What's more effective about Macro photography (explaining on a deeper level), can show the audience what life is like for small organisms. How they are surviving in a large environment around them.

What is Photography ethics?

Photography ethics is basically like a guide, for people into taking photographs and sharing them to thousands of people. Also, it's based on a person's everyday life, experiences and how their actions are taking place.

What are paparazzi photographers?

Paparazzi photographers are basically people taking photographs of celebrities, without asking for permission. It then leads celebrities into having a verbal conversation with them, or even worse, physical. Furthermore, paparazzi photographers sometimes take things too far in their work, by stalking celebrities for more photos, chasing them/invading their private lives.

Here are some examples:

Kanye West

Although West isn't shy to speak his mind and enjoys boasting, he also values his privacy. West is featured in his wife's reality program, but he likes to have some time to himself, so he doesn't appreciate when photographers snap pictures of him without his consent. He got so fed up with the paparazzi that he wrestled a photographer in an attempt to snatch the camera away from him. While the grapple ensued, other photographers took the opportunity to capture the encounter. Instead of separating the fight, the photographers chose to bank in on the moment by taking pictures.

Lamar Odom

Odom played for the Los Angeles Lakers and was married to Khloe Kardashian until 2016. Although his ex-wife enjoys attention, Odom prefers that photographers stay away from him, especially when he's driving. When Odom couldn't take the paparazzi's stalking, he trashed their car by taking out cameras from the back seat and smashing them on the ground.

Odom lost his cool. Fortunately for Odom, he didn't face any charges after the encounter, but he ended up divorcing Kardashian.

Tobey Maguire

His friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio might have prompted Maguire to follow in his friend's footsteps of preventing the paparazzi from snapping pictures of him.

The former Spider-Man star wanted the paparazzi to get out of his way when he tried to pull off. They wouldn't listen after Maguire implored them to move out of the way.

He reached his boiling point and shouted at the photographers, but they refused to budge. The photographers took the opportunity to snap pictures of The Great Gatsby star, but he covered his face with an arm to prevent them from getting a shot of him.

Kim Kardashian

I always wondered how the paparazzi know where celebrities are going to be. Once one watches a video that Kim posts on Instagram, that's when it becomes apparent.

Kim likes to announce to her social media followers where she's heading. Not one to miss out on an opportunity to get the most attention possible, Kim ensured that she drove past the place where the paparazzi would be in a convertible.

Considering that she made a video with Ray J, Kim doesn't shy away from the camera. She loves the attention and shares almost every move with her social media followers.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is the latest celeb to call out the paparazzi invading her privacy. And in the articulate, infinitely cheery way only Anne Hathaway can, she managed to do it as gracefully as possible, and with little outward anger (although I'm sure some part of her was seething underneath, she's only human!). After the paparazzi snuck photos of her on vacation, Hathaway took matters into her own hands, and posted an adorably pregnant bikini photo of herself on the beach to Instagram as a means of controlling her own image.

Adele

Adele is a paparazzi defying hero, successfully suing for five figures after photography company Corbis Images U.K. Limited after they took and distributed images of her one-year-old son, Angelo Adkins. The photo company agreed to pay damages and legal costs for the photos, and will no longer keep the offending images in their archives or retain the right to distribute them in any capacity.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay has had actual car chases with the paparazzi. One even resulting in a car crash. In 2008, she punched a photographer in New York. The following year, she egged the paparazzi outside of her house.

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse is another one who had plenty of issues with photographers stalking her. She had tried to physically fight them on more than one occasion. Eventually, she even got a court ban to keep the paparazzi's away from her home.

Justin Bieber (Yes I had no other choice but to include him in this)

Justin has actually lost his cool with photographers a few times. He has tried to fight annoying paparazzi before, but this time he was reportedly successful. Apparently, he had spent some time training with Mike Tyson and learned a thing or two!

Some photographers who messed with Justin discovered that he's not all peaches and cream. When the paparazzi wouldn't get out of Bieber's way while he was in the car, Bieber put his foot on the pedal and swerved off but not before knocking over a photographer.

Feeling bad for the incident, Bieber got out of the car to help the photographer, who was lying on the ground. While Bieber attended to the photographer, he asked the paparazzi who stood by to help him, but they ignored him and took the opportunity to snap pictures. Bieber couldn't believe their audacity.

Cara Delevigne

Like Perry, model Cara Delevigne took to Twitter to lash out at paparazzi last year. She said they made her feel like she was a "zoo animal" and that she felt like they would "ruin her trip". Delevigne asked the paparazzi's for empathy, and was backed by her followers. Social media is a powerful tool for getting a point across indeed.

Shia LeBeouf

He might act like a nice guy in movies, but LaBeouf might give you the death stare if you try to capture pictures of him while he's driving. The Indiana Jones and Transformers star has gotten friendly with co-star Megan Fox on the screen, but he doesn't have the friendliest persona off-screen.

When LaBeouf pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour, the judge sentenced him to anger management, as well. It seems that LaBeouf has recovered and staged a comeback to the screen. While he might be a good actor, he also needs to be friendlier while on the road.

Lebron James

Being one of the best basketball players of all time means that you don't have privacy wherever you go.

Once James exploded onto the NBA scene, he discovered that photographers couldn't get enough of him. Regardless of James' location, photographers stood by and were ready to take pictures of him in every position.

When James took his Jeep Wrangler for a drive, he wasn't expecting the paparazzi to be in proximity, so he got upset when he saw them and flipped down his visor to get some privacy. James wasn't happy about not having alone time.

Bar Refaeli

It seems that Refaeli and her ex-boyfriend, Leonardo DiCaprio, are on the same page about hiding away from photographers. Since Refaeli isn't an A-lister, she should use every opportunity to gain fame. She gained a decent amount of coverage while dating DiCaprio, but those days are long gone. Perhaps, some people don't like being deprived of their privacy and care more about that than fame.

Refaeli is an Israeli supermodel and a television host. While Refaeli was cruising around town, she used her bag to prevent the paparazzi from snapping a picture of her face.
