FINAL EVALUATION

My final major project was to do an anime magazine for niche audiences. This production has been used by flip snack for this. I have named my magazine 'Anime fest', which I found more interesting than 'Anime Legend', because I want to link my magazine into the summer. So I sometimes think of events that happen in the summer to expand the idea. So that's when I came up with the word 'festivals'. So I put the 2 words together and came up with 'Anime fest'. I would have called it 'Anime festival' but it didn't sound aesthetic enough. I came up with the genre of anime because I realized I was obsessed ever since I was little. Plus, I had more knowledge of it other than the other genres I came up with first hand. Plus, including drawings inside the magazine gives me that vibe into doing things I enjoy. That's also referring to my magazine journey with all the other elements I've included. I included my own articles using my own research. However, I found it difficult to be able to find other sources related to what I am finding. I managed to go with what I had.

My opinion on this project:

I actually found this unit to be very interesting and very entertaining for me. However, I did manage to come across some difficulties along the way, but I got through them. From the very beginning when they announced the final major project, I was thinking that I would be able to come up with a topic in a snap because I enjoy all the units they have. Overtime, I found it challenging to pick just one topic to do for this, so the sudden realization came so suddenly.

I was still unsure with what I was going to produce to the exam board, so I've had a quite amount of time to think of a project to do, so when we were in online lessons, I asked my teacher to see if she's free to do a 1:1 conversation with me, since I was still unsure with what to produce. After the conversation, still pondering on what I should do, then I came with the idea 'why not do a magazine'. Since the past units, where we did a magazine, I quite actually enjoyed it. It was fun experimenting with flip snack, adding interactions, drawing my own images so people can enjoy looking at it. When I'm more open minded and passionate with my creativity, I'm able to enjoy it even more because I love being creative and that's who I am.

However, over a couple of weeks, I began to procrastinate on my work. I am easily distracted all the time, I'm not able to get my tasks done. So throughout my final major project, I fell a bit behind schedule. That's when I didn't have enough time to put in all the effort in the pages in my magazine, that including the magazine analysis, the history and culture, finding sources, because a lot of things were going on in my head, which made me fall a bit behind even more because of my procrastination. I managed to complete a few word documents that needed to be finished, had some technical difficulties along the way, but I was able to get it done thankfully.

At first when I was in the process of producing it, I wasn't actually sure if it was intended to it's appropriate audience as I was laying out the foundation for the pages, what I was thinking of adding might not be able to work out or for my article page, I was a little anxious to see if I was beginning to understand what I'm supposed to be aiming towards. Overall, my answer would be a definite yes, because I managed to find sources which will appreciate the viewers. For instance, I included anime conventions, where it's being held and that when people see my magazine page, it would be an awesome help to them, if they were interested in anime conventions.

So in conclusion, I've really enjoyed this unit. The skills, techniques I was able to learn and at least have a go at, I'm always learning something everyday, it's incredible.

Beneath here, is a google document I have created for my audience's responses. I've asked them to view my magazine first before answering the questions, so that they will be able to know what to put down in the required boxes. I've asked them if they loved my magazine.

What I planned on doing:

- Making my magazine look sophisticating/detailed towards my intended audience

- Creating more pages inside my magazine to bring out more viewers.

- Having more time into drawing images to help me illustrate my articles/pages.

- Completing my documents.

- Creating a magazine on Anime/Fantasy.

Including games, social media, magazine examples to entertain my viewers.

!!UPDATE!!

I created my new plan, instead of talking about the theme fantasy, I just want it to be anime only, since I have more knowledge on what anime is, how it's popular and how they are performed in studios.

The following image above is the plan that my teachers told me to follow. On the sheet, it was the lay out for what my new magazine is going to look like. I asked my teachers to see if they can take another look at my magazine research as well, to see if it's sufficient for the exam board. Here is the feedback I have been given:

What can I do next time to improve my product?

What I can do to improve my final major even more, is to not waste time on getting other work done, so I won't fall behind. Also, to stop procrastinating on the tasks that I've been given from my teachers, so that next time, if I were to do this again in the future, I would have gotten a huge amount of development.
